BECOME GOOD MANAGERS

Management is the efficient and effective us of others’ resources with the intent to give account of your use of the resources to the one who entrusted them to you. Here, the one who has committed these resources in your hand is God. So speaking from a higher spiritual perspective, stewardship or management is the use of God’s divinely endowed resources for effective accomplishment of His earthly goals. We have various resources that God has given us to manage

a. Intangible Resources

  • Revelation
  • Anointing
  • Grace and calling
  • Our Life
  • Vision and ministry
  • Ministry Gifts, Talents, Skills

b. Tangible Resources

  • Money/ Materials
  • People (Relationship)
  • Infrastructure

YOU MUST KNOW : In this chapter, I will not be discussing management in full, knowing that there are countless numbers of books, magazines, audio and video recordings on this very important subject. However, I want to show you how managing resources well helps your ministry grow. Financial management and accountability is an integral part of your requirements for church and ministry growth.

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. The key to effective management is faithfulness. Promotion in life is as a result of faithfulness. The more you are seeking for, will naturally come because you are faithful in that which is small. Many desire for their ministries to grow but they show unfaithfulness in small things around them. He that is faithful in that which us least is faithful also in much; and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much” If you wait until there is crowd of thousands before you fast and prepare for teachings then that time may never come. How you handle 10, 20, or 100 people will determine if God will bring you into the thousands you are looking for. Now look at this: If therefor ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? (Verse 11) Faithfulness is the key to promotion. But here, he said if you are not faithful in the way you manage money and all that it represents , God will not commit to you true riches.

MONEY IS NOT TRUE RICHES

So we have seen that money is not true riches. However, God uses your faithfulness in managing money to determine if He will give you true riches or not. Money has a direct impact on church and ministry growth. Zachariah 1:17 Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad; and the LORD shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem. Money follows people. If you manage both very well, more will keep flowing to you. Financial indiscipline in most cases, has contributed to growth stagnation. God is saying here that through your prosperity and the prosperity of the land, His house (not just your local church but the entire body of Christ and church of the firstborn) shall be spread abroad, When God begins to bring resources your way, understand that the primary purpose is for the expansion of that work in your hand and not for personal show –off. So, God gives you unrighteous mammon as a way to test your ability to handle true riches. Here. There are two primal factors in terms of management that you must carefully understand and do in order to keep yourself om track.

1. Managing the people

2. Managing the money they bring.

These two are very important. for instance, when we manage the people and relationships God brings our way, they will in turn , release the treasures that they have and pour out onto us blessings in terms of cash. Money follows people. Without people, there will be no and without money, there are many things you will not be able to achieve. Therefore, I recommend that every bishop, senior pastor or leader should study a lot on management. Since promotion in the kingdom depends on my ability to successfully manage what I have presently then I should be able to ensure that I am not lacking in management skills. To manage people requires that I have good people skill. He who wants friends must be friendly himself/herself. Your value for people must be very high to be able to attract to attract people to you. You must desire and always imagine having people around you and must show deep love and excitement when people are around you. People dimension must not neglected in church and business growth considerations. So, be dynamic and catalyse the growth. Every leader must understand how to work with not just a people group, but all people group.
