The Foundation of the Pastors and Ministers Prayer Network

The vision for the Pastors and Ministers Prayer Network (PMPN) began as a divine instruction and evolved into an international movement. It started with a personal encounter, which led to a decision not to establish it as a personal ministry but under the umbrella of Intercessors for Nigeria.

Early Beginnings

Upon returning from a spiritual retreat, I shared my experience and the initial steps taken with Daddy Nwankpa. My desire was to ensure that this initiative was not just a personal endeavor but rather a collective intercessory effort for the nation. Daddy Nwankpa agreed and requested that I draft an article detailing how the network could be structured. This article laid out three foundational steps: creating awareness, mobilization, and implementation. After developing this framework, we officially embarked on the journey to establish the Pastors Network.

Before our trip to Swaziland, I had significant encounters with God regarding the mission. In 1986, I traveled with David Dimoji, and in 1987, we journeyed together to Boco. It was during these experiences that the Lord spoke to me about organizing an International Ministers Conference. I shared this revelation with David Dimoji, recognizing that these moments were divine preparation for the network’s future.

The First Congress and Official Formation

The first Congress of the Pastors and Ministers Prayer Network took shape after our return from Swaziland in May 1998. That September, during the National Prayer Conference for Nigeria, the leadership entrusted me with handling the Pastors’ Track. During this session at Badagry Secondary School, I felt a divine prompting that it was time to start organizing Pastors’ Conferences.

After the session, I shared this revelation with a fellow pastor, who agreed to join the initiative. I also sought counsel from Daddy Nwankpa, who encouraged us to move forward. At the time, he had relocated to Ghana, yet he made a great effort to return for the inaugural conference in October 1998, despite the prevailing labor crisis.

The first official Pastors and Ministers Prayer Network Conference was held in October 1998, with 128 attendees. The event was deeply prophetic, marking the beginning of a movement. The following year, in July 1999, we expanded the conference, shifting the timing to avoid conflicts with other major church events. The turnout grew significantly, with over 1,600 attendees from Nigeria, Benin Republic, Togo, and Chad.

Growth And Expansion

The Congress continued annually, gathering more participants from different nations. By the year 2000, we saw an increasing presence from South Africa and other regions. Then, in 2002, while in South Africa, the Lord instructed us to momentarily pause our ongoing conferences and focus on building the network as a structured organization. This led to the creation of local chapters, further solidifying our foundation and broadening our reach.

Conclusion

Since its inception, the Pastors and Ministers Prayer Network has continued to expand, drawing pastors and ministers from various nations into a unified intercessory movement. What began as a divine revelation has grown into a global network dedicated to empowering and mobilizing spiritual leaders for national and international impact.
