The Pastors/Ministers Prayer Network – Africa (PMPN-A) is a non-profit organization. It is a part of the mainstream of Intercessors for Africa. PMPN-A is concerned mainly with encouraging prayer, intercession and seeking the Lord as tools to enable church leaders, ministers, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers, para-church leaders and missionaries to build networks and fulfill their task. One other objective is to be a vessel to facilitate unity and collaboration among God's ministers. This vision was received in 1985 after seasons of waiting on the Lord.
The activities of this Network have grown into a Network in Africa under the auspices of Intercessors For Africa. We started with the training of three Pastors over a weekend in 1995.
In 1998, the foundation was laid at the first National Congress. In 1999, this became a Continental Congress. Today, we have over seventeen nations participating in the Congress.
BACKGROUND:
God's ministers are pivotal and important in His plans on earth, in the Church and can be crucial vessels to bring glory to God.
Jesus Christ our Lord is the Chief Corner Stone of the Church and He has given some Apostles some Prophets, some Evangelists, some Pastors, and Teachers for the equipping of the saints, for the work of the Ministry.
In every move of God, Ministers are expected to offer leadership to God's people and in the move of God in Africa today, our Ministers have a very onerous task to serve the Church and the nation so that God's will"- shall be done.
It is in the effort to serve the Ministers that Intercessors for Africa by the instructions of the Lord has set up the Pastors/Ministers Prayer Network-Africa. The work has been built on the basis of relationship and we will continue to build on this basis.
THE NEED:
By examining carefully the Church in Africa and her leadership, you will observe that rather than see the spiritual Unity and-required leadership role -manifest and grow, we see denominational walls and racism. The Church has been weakened by racism, tribalism, idolatrous foundations, ancestral worship, the spirit of colonialism and oppression.
Lack of proper training, discipleship and orientation into God's global prophetic plans and purposes in our time have also "frustrated" as it were God in our continent and made Him look weak and left at the mercy of black magic, witchcraft, corruption, divination, etc. Therefore, we were led by the Lord to set up this Network to help provide the required training and equipping of God’s Servants to confront these issues, and make the Gospel of the Kingdom relevant to Africa.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Africa has come into her 'Kairos' time in God's plan and scheme of things. God is about riding into Egypt (Africa) on a swift cloud, to cause the idols to totter, to receive sacrifice from His altar in the midst of Africa -(Isaiah, chapters 18 & 19).
We therefore encourage you to be part of this continental networking under the auspices of Africa House of Prayers. You can become an instrument of mobilizing Pastors/Ministers in your country or region or contribute towards the training and development of Pastors/Ministers, Church Workers and their communities
The first step in fulfilling the task before us is to learn how to pray together. Prayer breaks down walls more than any other activity. Matters of culture, tradition and even doctrinal disagreements take the back seat when a group of leaders pray together. We know that Pastors are elders at the gates of cities and the key to the city can only be released when we pray together. Building of corporate unity, leadership and ministry actually begin at the place of praying together. The most important resources that exist in any city are its key spiritual leaders. By joining forces, their effectiveness can be increased exponentially.
